Currently I live in Singapore, switched from engineering to finance after reading The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham — it felt like a two-by-four to the head.

My investing journey began during the COVID-19 market crash in 2020. When the lockdowns were announced and I believed that the pandemic was a temporary disruption and that human adaptability would eventually bring life back to normal. I tried pursuing my father to invest in stock that could endure the crisis, but my father was not interested.

Instead, my dad gave a small capital to invest on my own. This led me to begin my learning journey. Eventually, I discovered The Intelligent Investor to be intersting and the concept margin of saftey resonated well. My first stocks were ITC and Tata Motors.At the time, however, I had no understanding of stock markets and invested based on the belief that these stocks that had fallen significantly in price would eventually recover.
